NCCU Radio and Television Department to Present 2026 Graduation Showcase, In the Unfinished Between

The Department of Radio and Television at National Chengchi University (NCCU) will present its 2026 Independent Project Graduation Showcase, In the Unfinished Between, in June.

Continuing the department’s longstanding tradition of creative practice, this year’s showcase is independently curated by students and brings together diverse works in moving image, music, theatre, game design and audiovisual production. The exhibition highlights graduating students’ four years of exploration and practice in media, storytelling and contemporary issues.

The showcase consists of two main components: a Production Exhibition and a Film Festival.

The Production Exhibition will take place from June 3 to June 7, 2026, at the Exhibition Hall of NCCU’s Journalism Building. It will feature 10 projects across four categories: music, moving image, theatre and game design.

The Film Festival will be held on June 11 and 12 at the second-floor theatre of NCCU’s College of Communication. On June 14, three narrative films and one documentary will be screened at the Audiovisual Hall of NCCU’s Arts and Culture Center. An online film festival is also scheduled to take place on YouTube from June 20 to June 21, allowing a wider audience to participate in the exchange.

Titled In the Unfinished Between, the exhibition focuses on the uncertainty and fluctuation experienced by contemporary young people between becoming and not becoming, leaving and staying, and dreams and reality.

The curatorial concept suggests that people do not simply pause briefly in the process of making choices; instead, they may live for extended periods in a state of incompleteness. Unfinished decisions, unrealized ideals and futures that remain out of reach have gradually become part of everyday contemporary experience.

Rather than offering answers to struggle, In the Unfinished Between examines how struggle continues to exist. Here, “between” is no longer merely a transitional stage, but a condition in which one resides. Likewise, “unfinished” is no longer defined solely as absence or deficiency; it becomes a shared reality of life for contemporary youth.

Through different media and creative forms, the exhibition seeks to open a dialogue between the works and their audiences. Visitors are invited to reconsider their own positions and directions amid states of uncertainty and incompletion.

The event welcomes students in communication, radio and television, film and related fields, as well as all audiences interested in student productions and short films. Visitors are invited to enter In the Unfinished Between and experience the creative energy and life questions of contemporary youth.
